The weeks of consternation and alarm-sounding articles about Derrick Henry's absence from the Tennessee Titans' voluntary workouts can come to an end. The running back was back at workouts this week.
Running backs coach Sylvester Croom noted that Henry was clearly working out on his own while attending classes at Alabama.
"He looks great, is moving well and seems to be in very good shape for this time of the year," Croom said of Henry, via the team's official website. "It's obvious he's been doing a whole lot of work in the time he's been away.
"There is no problem with Derrick. The guy was in school, he is here now, and he is working. So we are moving forward from there."
The heat poured on the bruising running back for missing the start of voluntary workouts stemmed from comments made by coach Mike Mularkey at the start of workouts regarding Henry's absence.
Now that the Heisman Trophy winner is at workouts, our national nightmare is over.
That Croom cooed about Henry being in shape should temper the storyline from persisting as we move into the summer.
The second-year back should remain behind DeMarco Murray in the Titans' backfield pecking order to open the season, but as the year wears on, expect Henry's role to increase as Tennessee pushes for its first postseason appearance since the 2008 season.
