The Detroit Lions reinstated defensive tackle C.J. Mosley from suspension Monday, coach Jim Caldwell announced.
The veteran was suspended and sent home from London prior to the team's Week 8 game versus the Atlanta Falcons.
"C.J. Mosley is back with us," Caldwell said. "He's served his suspension -- one week for the Falcons and then this past bye week. He's now back with us, and then we'll be moving forward from this at that this point in time."
The team offered no reason for the suspension other than it was for conduct detrimental to the team and a violation of team rules. Caldwell called the decision to suspend Mosley "collective" on Monday.
When asked whether Mosley is facing any league punishment, Caldwell called it an NFLPA issue
Mosley's return is vital for the Lions' defensive tackle rotation, which is missing Nick Fairley -- likely out a month with a MCL and PCL sprains.
In some other good news for the Lions No. 1 rated defense, the team activated rookie linebacker Kyle Van Noy off the injured reserve-designated to return list.
Van Noy, a second-round pick, was expected to play a big role in coverage and in blitz formations for Detroit before having abdominal surgery. The rookie should have a heavy rotational role when he sees game action.
