If the Dallas Cowboys continue on their current pace and snap their streak of mediocrity, we might be able to point to Dez Bryant's overtime catch Sunday as the seminal moment of the season.
While being blanketed by Texans corner Johnathan Joseph, Bryant was able to snag the ball through the defenders arm and corral it while hitting the ground to set up the game-winning score.
"I just outfought him. I just had to come down with it," Bryant said, per the team's official website. "I'm just trying to put us in the best situations to get the W, and that's exactly what we did."
In an in-state rivalry game, against a fellow 3-1 team with bandwagon starting to form behind them, this was a game that previous Cowboys teams of this decade would have let slip away from their grasp. After struggling early in the game, Bryant wasn't going to let that happen.
"I didn't play my best game at all, and I've got to give credit to Coach (Derek) Dooley," Bryant said. "He came over and told me 'Keep playing, keep on playing. You know who you are.' That's exactly what I did. I let four quarters go by, and it's a whole new ballgame -- overtime came. I had to play my part."
