Even in the middle of basketball season, the Michigan-Ohio State football rivalry burns brightly.
New Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh took to Twitter on Saturday and seemed to take a veiled shot at Ohio State for its handling of the recruitment of Detroit Cass Tech running back Mike Weber (a touted recruit who -- oh, yeah -- also seriously considered the Wolverines). Weber signed with Ohio State on Wednesday but expressed dismay Thursday when Buckeyes running back coach Stan Drayton left to take an assistant's job with the Chicago Bears. Cass Tech coach Thomas Wilcher -- who played with Harbaugh at Michigan -- was critical of Ohio State's handling of the situation.
While Harbaugh's tweet was not specific about the Drayton/Weber situation, it seemingly hit close to home in Columbus. A few hours after Harbaugh's tweet, Ohio State director of player personnel Mark Pantoni had his own "thought of the day" tweet.
Meanwhile, Ohio State has hired Tony Alford as its new running back coach; he had held the same position at Notre Dame. And one Irish recruit, touted running back Dexter Williams of Orlando, isn't too happy.
