Dion Lewis won't be charged in fire-alarm incident

The story of one of the NFL's more embarrassing offseason arrests has ended without any legal consequences for Philadelphia Eagles running back Dion Lewis.

The Philadelphia Daily News reported Monday that Lewis will not face charges in connection with his arrest for allegedly pulling a fire alarm outside an upstate New York hotel last month.

After returning from a night of revelry, Lewis and his brother found themselves locked out of their hotel. Police said the brothers attempted to solve the problem with the help of the fire alarm.

Both men were charged with falsely reporting an incident (a Class E felony) and reckless endangerment of property (a Class B misdemeanor). Their hearing was pushed back to this week to give Albany's newly designated attorney time to catch up on the case.

The DA concluded there was "no evidence a fire alarm was ever pulled." Lewis heads to Eagles training camp Wednesday, where he's currently in line to serve as LeSean McCoy's primary backup.
