Bears legend Mike Ditka has not been afraid to criticize current head coach Marc Trestman in the past.
But when Iron Mike was asked if Trestman was losing the locker room amid a 3-5 season, he decided to take a stand.
"That's a lot of bull," Ditka told the Chicago Sun-Times. "Players play, coaches coach. They're not playing very good right now. Take a look at their defense. It's really not hard to figure this out, guys. You can blame anyone you want. You can blame me if you want. But the defense is not playing well. They're forcing the offense to do too much. So, I think all this talk is a lot of bull. You can run all those words, too.
After such a strong first season, it's hard to imagine Trestman on the hot seat just yet. Despite the fact that the team's owner needed to address the situation publicly, he remains one of the better coaching hires over the past two seasons.
Obviously, a win over the 5-3 Packers could go a long way on Sunday.
If not, Trestman at least knows that Mike Ditka has his back.
