Dolphins' Arian Foster a long shot to play vs. Browns

Another week, another injury issue for Arian Foster.

After dealing with a hamstring injury during practice last week, Foster suffered a groin injury in Sunday's loss to the Patriots that kept him on the sideline for the entire second half. It appears the veteran is likely to stay there.

The Dolphins running back sat out practice Wednesday and is a long shot to play Sunday against the Browns, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported. Foster could return next week against the Bengals on Thursday Night Football, Rapoport added.

Through one-and-a-half games in a Miami uniform, Foster has amassed 47 rushing yards on 16 carries and three catches for 62 yards.

The mood inside the Dolphins' running back room is dim. Foster is always ailing; Jay Ajayi is underperforming when he's not a healthy scratch; and Damien Williams and Kenyan Drake, who scored his first NFL touchdown last week, are nowhere near ready to carry the load of three-down backs.

Lucky for Adam Gase and the Dolphins, the perfect antidote is on its way: the Browns defense. We'll see if Foster is healthy enough to welcome Cleveland to Hard Rock Stadium.
