DAVIE, Fla. -- Injured Miami Dolphins rookie Jared Odrick said he is treating this year as a redshirt season.
The Dolphins' first-round pick wore a cast and was on crutches Monday after undergoing surgery for a broken left foot.
"It happened to me before, in college, where I was out for the rest of the season," Odrick said. "I came back and made All-American. I'm hoping to do something similar here -- come back 10 times stronger."
Odrick broke his right leg in the season opener and missed the next four games. He was on the verge of returning last week when he broke his foot in practice.
"I was getting excited to play and contribute again," he said. "It's unfortunate."
Odrick said he will be healthy when 2011 workouts begin next spring.
