Dolphins rule out Davis, Merling for non-injury reasons

The Miami Dolphins have ruled out cornerback Vontae Davis and defensive end Phillip Merling for non-injury reasons for Sunday's game in Kansas City.

The team didn't give details as to why Davis and Merling would not play.

Davis had been listed as questionable on the team's injury report because of a hamstring injury that has forced him to miss three games this season, including last week's loss to the New York Giants. He was limited in practice throughout the week.

Dolphins running back Daniel Thomas is also questionable but does expect to play against the Giants.

The Dolphins also announced Saturday they signed wide receiver Julius Pruitt from the team's practice squad.
