Indianapolis Colts running back Donald Brown was a full participant in practice Thursday and now is in position to play Sunday against the Tennessee Titans.
Brown (knee) missed last week's win over the Cleveland Browns and returned to practice on a limited basis Wednesday.
Vick Ballard replaced Brown in the starting lineup last week, and the Colts had their best running game of the season with 148 yards on 37 carries. Quarterback Andrew Luck also had a season-low 29 passes. Brown had surgery Oct. 9 and missed just two games.
It's doubtful that Brown would carry the load alone so soon after surgery. And Ballard earned himself some snaps after a strong outing against the Browns. Whoever's in the backfield should take advantage of a Titans defense ranked No. 25 against the run. The better the Colts run the ball, the fewer times Luck has to drop back.
That should be the goal as Luck continues to take shots behind a sporadic offensive line.
