Donald Driver doesn't see Packers cutting him now

When Donald Driver returned to the Green Bay Packers on a reduced contract, we wanted to see the fine print. For a player of Driver's age, it's all about guaranteed money.

ESPN's Andrew Brandt got a hold of the deal. Driver will earn $2.5 million in 2012 if he makes the Packers. He gets a $500,000 roster bonus next week. That's the only guaranteed money.

Debate: NFL's best 'Big Three'

Matt Schaub leads a terrific trio in Houston, with Andre

Johnson and Arian Foster. Does any other "Big Three" compare? **More ...**

Paying Driver $500,000 in June is a strong indication the Packers expect him to make the team. The Packers aren't in the habit of throwing away half a million dollars.

Then again, the number isn't extravagently large. If Driver truly struggled in camp, it's still conceivable the team would cut him.

"I just don't think it's going to happen," Driver said. "I think I've meant more to the organization than anything and the organization has meant so much to me. I don't think we'll ever get into a bitter relationship. They don't want that, I don't want that, so I don't think it will ever happen."

We agree. It shouldn't happen this year.
