The New Orleans Saints are 2-4 and perhaps the NFL's most disappointing team through seven weeks.
The team hasn't been in a position like this since their lost Bounty-gate season of 2011. Things won't get any easier on Sunday night, when the Saintshost the red-hotGreen Bay Packers.
Drew Brees was asked if the Packers matchup represents a must-win scenario for the Saints.
"There's no must-win games until they're must-win games," Brees said Wednesday, according to the Green Bay Press-Gazette. "It's important. It's really important, but nobody needs that kind of pressure."
Brees is right for a couple reasons. For one, there's a big difference between a Week 8 matchup in October and a win-or-go-home scenario in January. Then there's a look at the Saints' standing in the watered down NFC South. Despite all their problems, the Saints are just one game behind the 3-3-1 Carolina Panthers in the loss column.
"There's definitely a sense of urgency, but not a panic mode," Brees said. "We've got a lot of veteran guys on the team -- we do have a lot of young guys -- we have a lot of veteran guys on the team that have been through a lot together. I think we understand that we can just focus on the process, and we can get a little bit better each week, that eventually these wins will come."
