The Philadelphia Eagles defense just got healthier with less than a month to go before the start of the regular season.
The Eagles on Monday announced defensive end Brandon Graham was activated from the physically unable to perform list.
Graham underwent offseason ankle injury and his return to the team with two preseason games remaining on the schedule could put him on track to be available when the Eagles host the Atlanta Falcons on Sept. 6 to kick off the NFL regular season.
The 30-year-old Graham, who enters the final year of his contract, was one of many standouts in the Eagles' 41-33 Super Bowl win over the New England Patriots. Graham notched two tackles, a sack and two quarterback hits in the title-clinching victory.
Here's more injuries we are tracking on Monday:
- Panthers left tackle Matt Kalil is currently dealing with a sore knee that began bothering him during training camp, per coach Ron Rivera. This is something to monitor for for an offensive line unit that has dealt with a number of injuries this preseason.
- Browns cornerback E.J. Gaines suffered a right knee sprain and will be evaluated on a week-to-week basis, the team announced. NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported that it's a MCL sprain and he'll likely be out three to four weeks. Gaines was carted off during practice Sunday.
- Vikings rookie defensive end Ade Aruna (knee) was placed on injured reserve Monday.
- The Broncos designated guard Menelik Watson as reserve/injured with a pectoral strain.
- The Texans activated rookie left tackle Martinas Rankin off the PUP list.
- Bears coach Matt Nagy confirmed linebacker Leonard Floyd has a fracture in his right hand and had a successful surgery yesterday. Tight end Adam Shaheen is currently being evaluated for an ankle sprain and the team should know more later today.
- Cowboys coach Jason Garrett told reporters that center Travis Frederick will be meeting with more specialists regarding his neck stinger. The team continues to gather information on the severity of the injury and how much time the starting offensive lineman will miss.
The Cowboys also waived/injured defensive tackle Richard Ash and placed safety Jameill Showers (knee) on injured reserve.
