Philadelphia Eagles pass rusher Nolan Smith underwent surgery Wednesday to repair a torn triceps but should be ready to go for the start the 2025 season, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo reported Friday.
Smith sustained the injury during the Eagles' Super Bowl LIX victory over the Kansas City Chiefs and played through the ailment.
The 24-year-old was a first-round selection of the Eagles in the 2023 NFL Draft and turned in a breakout 2024 campaign.
Smith played in 16 regular-season games with 10 starts, 6.5 sacks, 42 tackles, 11 QB hits and 24 QB pressures.
Philadelphia ended the season as the top-ranked defense in yards allowed and hoisting a Lombardi Trophy. Smith proved to be a pivotal figure in those accomplishments and fortunately is expected to be ready to kick off the team's Super Bowl defense in 2025.
