The Philadelphia Eagles are under no illusion about what happened last Sunday.
Coming off a 20-10 butt-kicking at the hand of the Dallas Cowboys -- a defeat that wasn't as close as the score -- coach Chip Kelly summed up the drubbing by saying Monday: "I was embarrassed."
Kelly isn't alone, with Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson lighting into the effort with a gaggle of local reporters.
"I don't even know what to tell you," Johnson said, per CSN Philly. "I'm going to have to go back and look at the film, but no matter what we did, we couldn't execute. We couldn't get nothing going. It's pathetic, and I'm part of it.
"It felt like everything was going wrong. When it rains it pours. I felt like we had a great week of practice. Just got out there and pissed on our leg -- I don't know what to tell you."
Johnson isn't wrong. This supposed run-heavy attack put up a ridiculous seven yards on the ground off 17 attempts, while quarterback Sam Bradford appeared allergic to launching the ball downfield.
The hope for Philly, though, is that Dallas -- stripped of quarterback Tony Romo and star wideout Dez Bryant -- might be in a world of hurt when the teams next meet in Week 9. Things look bleak for both clubs today, but in a wide open NFC East, the Eagles have time to right the ship.
