Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson didn't practice Wednesday because of a concussion, and his status for Sunday's game at Atlanta is uncertain.
Jackson was injured during the third quarter of last Sunday's victory over the Washington Redskins. Eagles coach Andy Reid said Jackson is recovering from his concussion and wouldn't yet be ruled out for the game against the Falcons.
"He's making progress," Reid told the Eagles' official Web site. "He took a heck of a shot in that jaw area. That's where he was sore. It was quite a hit, enough to shock him there for sure. ...
"We're very cautious in this area. In these type of situations, like all injury situations, you want to make sure the player's OK and not put him in any jeopardy of either being hurt again on the field or something that might hinder him throughout his life."
Meanwhile, Eagles running back Brian Westbrook, who suffered two concussions in a span of a month, will miss his third consecutive game. He again met with concussion specialists this week in Pittsburgh and will increase his exercise and continue to be evaluated.
Westbrook will be re-examined in a week or two. He experienced a headache while working out last Friday.
In other injury news, defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley was limited in practice because of a sprained ankle. Linebacker Akeem Jordan, sidelined the last three games with a hyper-extended knee, ran with the scout team in Wednesday's workout. Wide receiver Kevin Curtis has been ruled out for Sunday's game because of a knee injury that has sidelined him since the second game of the season.
