Early notes from the NFL Annual Meeting

BOCA RATON, Fla. -- Around The NFL has landed in Florida for this week's NFL Annual Meeting.

It's still hushed here on this Sunday morning at the Boca Raton Resort and Club, a sprawling and posh hotel nestled a stone's throw away from the Atlantic.

As reporters and league heavies begin to descend, we've already spotted a rash of familiar faces on the grounds: Bills coach Rex Ryan made an appearance here in the hotel's Palm Court shortly before Eagles executive VP of football operations Howie Roseman came in from a morning run.

We also spotted Bengals coach Marvin Lewis talking shop with new Buccaneers coach Dirk Koetter; Bucs general manager Jason Licht wandering the halls; and Jaguars coach Gus Bradley -- looking especially jacked up -- making his way into an elevator. Pittsburgh's Mike Tomlin and Minnesota's Mike Zimmer are also up and about, as is Cardinals coach Bruce Arians in his trusty Kangol.

The hotel is also filled with a horde of regular vacationers, plenty of them football fans. One of the best perks of the Annual Meeting is watching a pack of young Broncos fans stare in otherworldly shock as John Elway floats by with Gary Kubiak.

There's plenty of business to conduct this week, but most of these hard-working coaches and team-builders also use the event as chance to bring their families on vacation. It might not feel that way with agents, talking heads and inquisitive scribes hovering around every corner, but it's as close as these men can get to leisure in a league with literally no offseason.

We'll check back later as this thing gets cooking.
