Eric Berry leads Clutch Performer nominees

The Kansas City Chiefs' Eric Berry, Tampa Bay Buccaneers' Jameis Winston, Arizona Cardinals' Patrick Peterson, Oakland Raiders' Khalil Mack and New England Patriots' Tom Brady each had the strength to come through during a key moment and contribute to wins during Week 13.

Thanks to those strong performances, each player is up for Castrol EDGE Clutch Performer of the Week honors. This is a deeper look at the significance of those conquests.

Eric Berry, Kansas City Chiefs

Strong stats to consider:
» This is the first time ever that a team scored a touchdown to take the lead in the fourth quarter and then lost the lead before the ensuing kickoff.
» Berry is the first player to ever score via pick six and pick two in the same game.

Power of the moment: Let's ignore stats for a second here. It's not that this game didn't have playoff implications, it was loaded with that. But the real story here is Eric Berry. This was his first career game in Atlanta, his hometown. This is also the city where Berry won his fight against Hodgkin's Lymphoma two years ago. This is a huge moment for Berry and might be the best story in football right now.

Jameis Winston, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Strong stats to consider:
» Winston has recorded a passer rating of 90 or more in 9 of 12 games this season. He accomplished that feat in just 5 of 16 games last season.
» Winston has accounted for a TD in all of his 28 games. It's the most consecutive games with a TD to start an NFL career since 1970. He has a rushing TD in all 4 of his games without a passing TD.

Power of the moment: Every win counts this late in the season. The Bucs are now currently the sixth seed in the NFC. The team hasn't made the playoffs since 2007.

Patrick Peterson, Arizona Cardinals

Strong stats to consider:
» The Cardinals' defense has allowed just 10 passing TDs this season. They're tied for the fewest allowed in the NFL with the Denver Broncos' defense. The Cards are also the only team that hasn't allowed a receiving TD to an opposing tight end.
» The Cards have not allowed 300+ pass yards or 3+ passing TDs in any game this season.

Power of the moment: Washington had a chance in the final seconds to win this one. With just 41 seconds remaining in the game, Peterson snaged a pass from Kirk Cousins to put the game away.

Khalil Mack, Oakland Raiders

Strong stats to consider:
» Mack had a day. He recorded 7 tackles, 1 sack, 1 tackle for loss, 1 QB hit, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery and 1 pass defensed. He is a force for the Raiders' D.
» Mack has 10 sacks on the year and seven-consecutive games with at least 1 sack. That's the longest active streak in the NFL.

Power of the moment: While Raiders' QB Derek Carr is getting tons of credit, Khalil Mack is overcoming a somewhat slow start to the year to cause some real chaos for opposing offenses. We've seen Mack do this already this year, so this strip-sack and fumble recovery should look familiar. The Raiders are for real.

Tom Brady, New England Patriots

Strong stats to consider:
» There it is. Tom Brady is now the winningest QB in NFL history. He's also the first QB ever with a W-L record 140 games ABOVE .500 at any point of his career. Brady is 201-61 in his career.
» Since Gillette Stadium opened in 2002, the Patriots are 78-0 at home when leading at halftime.

Power of the moment: The Pats beat the Los Angeles Rams 26-10, but the game wasn't even as close as that score suggests. The Pats might be without Gronk, but Brady now has the most wins of any QB in NFL history.
