Ex-USC RB LenDale White sticks to story after Coliseum incident

As one should expect in a back-page story involving USC, the strange incident involving former Trojans running back LenDale White has gotten even stranger.

Two weeks ago in the team's win over previously undefeated Arizona, White criticized the coaching staff on Twitter and called for athletic director Pat Haden to fire Steve Sarkisian.

Last Saturday, shortly after USC blasted Colorado in the school's homecoming game, White appeared to make amends with Haden and told the LA Times that he wasn't against any member of the staff and only tweeted those things in the heat of the moment. However, he apparently tried to enter Sarkisian's post game press conference and was later led away by security. He told the paper he was getting kicked out of the Coliseum by Haden and proceeded angrily tweet and say a few things that rankled some feathers.

While over 24 hours have passed since the incident, cooler heads have apparently not prevailed.

"My problem is not with USC," White told the Times. "To me it's just a little fishy, and I was always taught the fish stinks at the head.

"I'm just being honest."

OK, then.

A school spokesman refuted White's claims that he was kicked out of the stadium by Haden, but did tell the paper that White was "loud and disrespectful" when the two spoke on the sideline. White denied such claims and said the athletic director told him he could stop by anytime.

White, a former Tennessee Titans and Denver Broncos tailback, also said security followed him up the Coliseum tunnel and then asked him to leave based on a conversation with an administrator. That's when things devolved into a shouting match and White eventually left.

"Nobody has reached out, but that's all right," White added. "I'm just the all-time leading scorer at the university."

Despite all this, White still said he will try to attend USC's home game against Notre Dame later this year.

Nothing like a little drama at the school a few miles south of Hollywood.
