Ex-Vikings D-line coach Dunbar said to be joining Jets staff

The New York Jets have offered former Vikings defensive line coach Karl Dunbar the same position on their staff, the New York Daily News reported over the weekend.

Dunbar, who was fired recently after six seasons with Minnesota, is expected to accept and join Rex Ryan's staff. The newspaper said the team interviewed him two weeks ago.

Dunbar played defensive end for Buddy Ryan with the Cardinals from 1994 to 1995. Rex Ryan was his father's defensive line coach in 1994.

Current Jets defensive line coach Mark Carrier might be given another position on the coaching staff, a source told the Daily News.
