Now that we're past free agency and the draft, we have a clue of how the teams around the NFL are going to line up. More importantly, we also have a pretty good idea of which players could be in line for some nice fantasy production in 2015. To help you out, we've brought back our Roster Resets for another season. For a more complete look, check out Around the NFL's Roster Reset.
Houston Texans
Key re-signings:Ryan Mallett
Key arrivals:Brian Hoyer, Cecil Shorts, Nate Washington
Key departures:Andre Johnson
Key draft picks:Jaelen Strong, Keith Mumphery
Fantasy depth chart
Regardless of any shuffling the Texans did with their passing game, the offense will still rise and fall on the legs of Arian Foster. Despite dealing with nagging injuries in the past couple of seasons, Foster is still a workhorse back and nearly certain to remain among the top fantasy options. DeAndre Hopkins is now fully free of Andre Johnson's shadow and ready to officially become Houston's No. 1 receiver. Who joins him as the second option remains to be seen, but it should lead to an interesting competition between veteran Cecil Shorts and rookie Jaelen Strong. Now here's hoping Houston can get quality production from one of its quarterbacks.
Indianapolis Colts
Key re-signings: None
Key arrivals:Frank Gore, Andre Johnson, Vincent Brown
Key departures:Reggie Wayne, Ahmad Bradshaw, Trent Richardson, Hakeem Nicks
Key draft picks:Phillip Dorsett
Fantasy depth chart
The Colts have amassed an embarrassment of pass-catching riches heading into the 2015 season. Good thing they have a quarterback who can spread the ball around effectively. Andrew Luck is likely to be one of the first three fantasy signal-callers off the board and his teammates should be similarly valued. The tight end duo of Dwayne Allen and Coby Fleener could yet again give fantasy managers fits, but considering the state of the tight end position overall, it's a headache worth having. One of the big questions will be whether a new offense can inject new life into Frank Gore and Andre Johnson. If so, they could be quality mid-round steals.
Jacksonville Jaguars
Key re-signings: None
Key arrivals:Julius Thomas
Key departures:Cecil Shorts
Key draft picks:T.J. Yeldon
Fantasy depth chart
Jacksonville is amassing a number of young players. Now the world waits to see how those players will produce. A second season of Blake Bortles throwing to a young trio of receivers could start to bear fruit in 2015. Meanwhile, the addition of rookie T.J. Yeldon to the backfield could make Toby Gerhart an afterthought in the running game. The bottomline is that the Jaguars have a lot of potential, but no real proven commodities. This will be one of the bigger risk-reward rosters in the National Football League this season.
Tennessee Titans
Key re-signings:Ryan Succop
Key arrivals:Harry Douglas, Hakeem Nicks, Anthony Fasano
Key departures:Nate Washington
Key draft picks:Marcus Mariota, Dorial Green-Beckham, David Cobb
Fantasy depth chart
The first thing you'll notice about the Titans roster is the glut of wide receivers. Yet, it seems as though free agent acquisitions like Harry Douglas and Hakeem Nicks will have trouble seeing the field on a regular basis. That means more targets for Kendall Wright, Justin Hunter and rookie Dorial Green-Beckham. But all eyes will be on new quarterback Marcus Mariota, who is certain to have a steep learning curve adjusting to an NFL offense. Similarly, the backfield is loaded with unproven or uninspiring options. Can Bishop Sankey improve on a disappointing 2014, or will he be looking over his shoulder at rookie David Cobb?
