The father of Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III implied that his son intends to apply for entry into the 2012 NFL Draft.
"I met with my son (Friday), and his schedule is pretty much he will attend the Sugar Bowl here in New Orleans, then next weekend he will meet with five agents and select the right agent to represent him and plan a good pre-draft process," Robert Griffin II told ESPN.com on Saturday. "After that he will sit down with three of his coaches at Baylor on Wednesday or Thursday (Jan. 11 or 12) and make it official."
Griffin III told an ESPN.com reporter Sunday that he hasn't yet decided whether he'll attempt to enter the draft.
He won the Heisman Trophy in his junior season and has garnered buzz as a quarterback prospect.
"He's still waiting for his official evaluation from the league, but the decision (to turn pro) is not a hard decision," the elder Griffin said.
A representative from Baylor issued a statement contesting the comments made by Griffin's father.
"Robert Griffin III -- the son, the player -- has NOT made a decision regarding eligibility," the statement said, according to ESPN. "He will seek input from coaches later this month, then make his decision."
Griffin III completed 24 of 33 passes for 295 yards and a touchdown in Baylor's 67-56 win over Washington in the Alamo Bowl on Dec. 29. He also ran the ball 18 times for 74 yards and a score. He finished the 2011 season with 4,293 yards and 37 passing touchdowns, and 906 yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground.
