Foot injury knocks out Browns' Lewis after one play

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- Cleveland Browns running back Jamal Lewis left Sunday's game against the New England Patriots with an injured right foot and did not return.

Lewis ran just once, gaining 11 yards on the Browns' first offensive play. He was replaced by Jason Wright, who carried three times for 14 yards on the drive. On second-and-goal at the 1-yard line, he was stopped for no gain. On the next play, Junior Seau intercepted Derek Anderson's pass in the end zone.

Lewis entered the game seventh in the NFL with 371 yards rushing, including a 66-yard touchdown. The Browns signed him as a free agent after he spent the past seven seasons with Baltimore.
