Sippio, 27, and Santana Coats, 30, are accused of attempted murder, armed robbery, aggravated battery and kidnapping against Sergio Moore, the newspaper reports.

According to an Osceola sheriff's report, Sippio and Coats picked up Moore, 27, late Thursday and drove him to a rural pasture, where Moore was punched and kicked by the two men while Coats pointed a gun at him.

Authorities say Sippio and Coats continued to terrorize Moore, who is a roommate of Sippio's, on the drive back home. Moore suffered a broken nose and lacerations to his hand and cheek.

Sippio played in the NFL in 2007 with the Kansas City Chiefs. He saw limited action while appearing in nine games.

Sippio has spent the past two seasons with the Orlando Predators of the Arena Football League.
