The Arizona Cardinals are rewarding defensive end Frostee Rucker for his fine work as an injury replacement for Darnell Dockett last season.
The team has reached agreement with Rucker on a one-year extension, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reports, via a source involved in the deal.
Rucker, 31, was under contract for $1.1 million through 2015.
Although inconsistent as a pass rusher, Rucker has been a key cog in the Cardinals' stingy run defense the past two years.
The ninth-year veteran will continue in a rotational role, splitting snaps with newcomers Cory Redding and Corey Peterson on a revamped defensive line.
