Houston Texans coach Gary Kubiak indicated after Sunday's 34-3 loss to the San Francisco 49ers that Matt Schaub would remain the team's starting quarterback. Given a night to think about it and watch the film, Kubiak was less definitive.
Kubiak was asked Monday if Schaub remained the Texans' starter.
"He is, but I'm evaluating everything to see what gives us the best chance to win," Kubiak said, via the Houston Chronicle. "I'm trying to help him (Schaub) push him through it so our team can push through it. We're all disappointed because we're having to overcome too much."
The Texans have lost three consecutive games, and Schaub was replaced by T.J. Yates in the fourth quarter against San Francisco. Kubiak has chosen not to specifically declare Schaub the starting quarterback for Sunday's game against the St. Louis Rams.

Kubiak knows benching Schaub would be a seismic change for the organization, and he's not rushing the decision. But it sure sounds like that move is on the table this week.
