Mike Evans had a game to remember in Week 11, torching the Washington Redskins for 209 yards and two touchdowns in a 27-7 win at FedEx Field.
It's the type of performance that opens eyes and wins Offensive Rookie Of The Year awards. Evans is on a roll, posting three consecutive 100-yard games with at least one touchdown. The last wide receiver to do that was Randy Moss in 1998 -- the same Randy Moss that some smart football people believe was the most dominant wideout in NFL history.
So yes, the Bucs got a good one with the seventh overall pick. Tampa Bay defensive tackle Gerald McCoy believes Evans is so good, he doesn't quite grasp it -- at least not yet.
"I don't think he understands yet that he's special," McCoy said, according to SBNation. "You have those players who make plays sometimes and it's like, 'Man, that guy is playing really hard.' And sometimes you're like, 'Man, that guy's unstoppable.'
"But then you have those special players where they just kind of make it look easy. Just real smooth. He never looks he's running hard, he never looks like he strains to catch the ball. He stiff-arms people, they go to the ground, but it's just so nonchalant. When you see people like that and they continue to do it, they're the special players."
That's probably how a Vikings teammate would have described Moss in 1998. Evans has a lot of resume building before he's in Moss' class, but he's off to a wildly promising start.
