Giants' Cruz: Eli Manning TD run is like unicorn or UFO

The New York Giants were rolling so well in Thursday night's thrashing of NFC East rival Washington Redskins, they got to witness one of the rarest of rarities: Eli Manning score with his feet.

"It's almost like seeing a UFO or seeing a unicorn or something like that," receiver Victor Cruz laughed on Friday, per the New York Post. "But it's cool. We will take it. I know Eli will take it."

Manning scampered into the end zone on a 1-yard score in the fourth quarter, giving the Giants a 38-14 lead in what would become a 45-14 win.

How rare is an Eli touchdown run? It was Manning's first rushing TD since Week 1 of 2011 -- coincidently also at Washington. Sunday marked just the fifth rushing touchdown for the younger Manning in his 11-year career. (Peyton Manning, by the way, has 18 career rushing touchdowns.)

"Anytime we get a chance to put points up on the board we will take it," Cruz said. "But it's definitely fun to see Eli Manning get in the end zone."

It's also fun to point out that Steve Young holds the record for the most career rushing touchdowns by a quarterback (43) and Cam Newton has the most in one season (14). Look out, boys, Unicorn Eli is coming.
