The New York Giants will go to training camp with all their draft picks signed.
The Giants announced late Saturday night that first-round choice Jason Pierre-Paul signed a multiyear contract just hours after second-round choice Linval Joseph signed his contract.
The deals came less than 24 hours before the Giants reported to training camp at the University at Albany.
Pierre-Paul, the 15th overall pick out of South Florida, received a five-year contract worth $20.05 million, with $11.629 million guaranteed, a league source told NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora. The rookie defensive end signed the contract around 8:30 p.m., about three hours after Joseph put his signature on a contract valued at about $4 million.
Pierre-Paul is an unbelievable athlete for a defensive end, but he might take time to develop. In his only season at South Florida, he had 45 tackles with 6.5 sacks for minus-29 yards. He also had 16.5 tackles for losses and a team-high seven quarterback pressures.
Pierre-Paul also forced two fumbles, deflected three passes and intercepted another that he returned 18 yards for a touchdown against Syracuse.
Earning playing time at defensive end will be tough for Pierre-Paul, with veterans Justin Tuck, Mathias Kiwanuka, Osi Umenyiora and Dave Tollefson all returning to the Giants this season.
Joseph, who's from East Carolina, is a big run stopper who blossomed at defensive tackle after losing more than 70 pounds after his freshman season. Joseph, the 46th overall pick in the draft, had 60 tackles with three sacks and 14 quarterback pressures last season.
An outstanding special teams player, Busing started four games for the Houston Texans last season. The former Miami of Ohio player started his NFL career with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2006.
