Giants' Hakeem Nicks, Justin Tuck to play Sunday

The New York Giants need wide receiver Hakeem Nicks and defensive end Justin Tuck to return to form in 2013 in order to get back to the playoffs. The two stars finally look healthy.

Both players will suit up Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts, Giants coach Tom Coughlin announced Friday. Nicks, who was hurt for most of last season, missed the start of training camp with a groin injury. Tuck missed last week's preseason game with a back injury.

Coughlin also said that he was "encouraged" by the progress of Jason Pierre-Paul, who is coming off back surgery. The Giants remain hopeful that JPP can get ready for Week 1, although he has sounded less certain publicly. Safety Antrel Rolle and cornerback Terrell Thomas also are trying to get healthy.

Every NFL team has injury issues, but the Giants have bigger ones than most. It's a boom-or-bust team, with a lot of boom-or-bust players.
