5. Sean Weatherspoon, LB, Atlanta Falcons
You couldn't be at Falcons training camp for long until noticing No. 56 -- Sean Weatherspoon -- running around, making plays and being very animated on the field. Even middle linebacker Curtis Lofton, who usually records more than 100 tackles a season said, "Sean is fun to play with and his enthusiasm is contagious."
The plan in Atlanta seems to be that Weatherspoon will be on the field for the nickel defense, as well as the base defense, because of his coverage skills. That will put Weatherspoon in a great position to make plays. Weatherspoon played in 52 college games and recorded 406 tackles, 44 tackles for a loss, 12.5 sacks, 17 pass breakups and four interceptions. On top of that, he has a recorded 770-pound full squat in the weight room and that strength shows up on the NFL field. He can play over a tight end or on the weak side as a run-and-hit 'backer.
