The Chicago Bears weren't going to get back in the game as they began their final possession Thursday. Their attempt at a closing march down the field didn't sit well with Lions safety Glover Quin.
"I was a little frustrated when we came back out there because I knew Jay Cutler had like 190 passing yards," Quin said after Detroit's 34-17 victory at Ford Field, according to the Detroit Free Press. "They only had like 206 (yards on offense).
"I was like, 'Man, we're going to go back out here and they're going to dink and dunk and get 50, 60 yards and make it look like he had a good day.' And then he was trying to score at the end. I'm glad he threw a pick."
Cutler began the final drive with 217 yards passing. He completed five passes for 63 yards before he was intercepted by safety James Ihedigbo as time expired.
Quin obviously didn't want to see the stat sheet from a strong defensive effort marred by a meaningless late drive. Then again, we're not sure what else Cutler and the Bears' offense was supposed to do.
Something tells us kneeling on the football three times wouldn't have gone over well with an already-agitated fan base.
