Josh Gordon is no closer to reinstatement to the NFL.
Asked about Gordon at a fan forum in Cleveland on Thursday, Commissioner Roger Goodell said the receiver's reinstatement is "not under active consideration to my knowledge, at least it hasn't gotten to my desk yet," per Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
In May, the NFL denied Gordon's reinstatement petition, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported, per a league source. The 26-year-old wideout filed papers in March to have his indefinite suspension lifted.
Gordon hasn't played a regular season game since 2014 due to suspensions. He participated in the preseason in 2016.
As an organization, the Browns have moved on -- though the team would welcome him back if he were ever reinstated. Gordon's enticing athleticism and magical 2013 season have caused Cleveland fans to consistently inquire about his possible return. As Goodell said Thursday, however, that doesn't appear close to happening anytime soon, if ever.
