Leonard Fournette, RB, LSU
WEEK 10 GRADE: C
Stats: 17 carries for 35 yards (2.1 average). 1 catch for 8 yards. (vs. Alabama)
Skinny: The numbers were underwhelming, but I don't place much of the blame on Fournette. For the second year in a row, the Alabama defensive front dominated the LSU offensive line. There simply wasn't any room for Fournette to operate. He ran extremely hard and he did have one flash play, where he jumped and spun simultaneously for a nice pickup. If there is one knock on his game, it's that Fournette needs a little bit of room to get cranked up. He's not ultra elusive and he's not a space creator. He did a nice job in pass protection, effectively chipping the Alabama edge rushers before releasing into the route. LSU tried to get him involved out of the backfield but he dropped the ball. This wasn't Fournette's best game, but the fault lies more with his offensive line and play caller than it does with his performance.
