What's an NFL player to do while biding his time on injured reserve?
Sure, plenty of hours can be allocated to rehabbing whatever physical malady has kept you off the field... but then what?
In the case of Green Bay Packers running back Cedric Benson, the answer is launching a side career as a professional DJ.
Benson -- or DJ World Peace -- has appeared at clubs around Austin, Texas, in the past month, according to Deadspin. It's unclear if he's available to perform at weddings or bar mitzvahs, though DJ World Peace did spin at a strip club earlier this month.
Benson has been sidelined by a Lisfranc injury since October. His "designated to return" injury reserve status means he's eligible to practice if healthy, but Benson acknowledged last week that season-ending foot surgery remains a "lingering possibility."
Football or no football, he'll still have his music -- and his quest for world peace. On Monday, he wrote "Save the children 2013" on his official Facebook page.
No promises for you kiddos still stuck in 2012, unfortunately.
