Green Bay Packers receiver Greg Jennings wants to play against the Chicago Bears for "Thursday Night Football." The questions is: Will the team let him?
The Packers listed Jennings as doubtful on the injury list Wednesday, but Jennings doesn't share those reservations.
"(Jennings is) trying to do everything he can," NFL Network's Rebecca Haarlow reported Thursday morning. "He's a competitor. He wants to be on the field."
Jennings tweaked his groin during the Week 1 loss to the San Francisco 49ers and didn't practice Wednesday.
"They put him through everything," coach Mike McCarthy said Wednesday, according to the Green Bay Press-Gazette. "Testing in a number of different drills and then his endurance through the drill. I'll get the evaluation and then, frankly, (Thursday) will be the deciding factor."
The Packers are one of the most well-equipped teams in the NFL to deal with the loss of their No. 1 receiver. Jordy Nelson, James Jones, Randall Cobb and Donald Driver would represent the top four receivers alongside tight end Jermichael Finley. The Packers, however, were 13-0 before Jennings missed the first of three games due to a sprained knee in 2011. The team lost to the Kansas City Chiefs that week.
