The Minnesota Vikings are getting closer.
NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Friday that the Vikings have concluded the search portion of their quest to find their next head coach. The one loose end is Greg Roman, the San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator with whom the Vikings were interested.

Cordarrelle Patterson had four touchdowns receiving, three touchdowns rushing and added two kickoff-return touchdowns. Was it the best rookie performance of 2013?
Rapoport reported Saturday that a Vikings contingent planned to head to Charlotte to interview Roman, who is preparing for San Francisco's divisional playoff matchup against the Carolina Panthers.
While in Charlotte, the Vikingsalso planned to meet with 49ers defensive line coach Jim Tomsula.
Once those interviews have been completed, three finalists will travel to Minnesota to meet with ownership, likely after the weekend, Rapoport has been told.
Rapoport previously reported that Cincinnati Bengals defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer and Arizona Cardinals defensive coordinator Todd Bowles are two of the finalists. Roman potentially could become that third option.
