We have a "Do Your Job" controversy.
The line is a favorite of Patriots coach Bill Belichick, who is known to gently remind his players to block out distractions and focus on the task of beating opponents with pathological regularity. It was a well-known battle cry for the Pats as they prepared for their classic Super Bowl XLIX showdown with the Seahawks in the shadow of Deflategate.
Earlier this week, ESPN business report Darren Rovell shared a photo of the "Do Your Job" phrase painted on a wall in the Cowboys' new training facility. For whatever reason, this prompted a follow-up from Rob Gronkowski.
That link takes you to a blog post on a strange website devoted to Gronk merch in all forms. I have no idea who wrote the post (Glenn? Gordie? Tito?) but the person is having some fun. Here's the close:
While we all know that the Pats thrashed the Cowboys 30-6 last October and Dallas hasn't been to the Super Bowl since the 1995 season, so they need all the motivation they can get -- but can't America's Team come up with their own slogan instead of stealing ours?
