Haley, Cassel have words on sideline during Chiefs' victory

The Kansas City Chiefsfinally landed in the win column at the expense of the woeful Minnesota Vikings on Sunday, but a tense sideline encounter between coach Todd Haley and quarterback Matt Cassel provided the game's most memorable moment.

The spat occurred following a third-and-goal play in the second quarter, when a designed screen call failed to develop, and Cassel spiked the ball into the turf. That irked Haley, who didn't agree with his QB's strange approach to the play. The two had some words before fullback Le'Ron McClain stepped between them.

Winning has a way of smoothing these things out, so expect both Cassel and Haley to pull the "Hey man, it was just a heat of the moment thing" card. But we wouldn't be surprised if there's some fire behind this smoke, especially given the whispers about Haley's tenuous standing within the organization.

As for the underlying question of who would win a prize fight between the two? Let's go with Haley by TKO in the third round. That man has a crazy streak.
