Hamstring keeps Hillis out of the lineup for second straight week

Browns running back Montario Hardesty has replaced Peyton Hillis in the starting lineup for the second straight week in the Cleveland's Sunday matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.

It's the latest frustrating chapter this season for Hillis, who was ruled inactive for the road matchup against the NFC West leaders with a hamstring injury. Hillis has now missed three of Cleveland's seven games due to illness or injury.

Hardesty hasn't done much with his opportunity so far, rushing 73 times for 238 yards (3.3 yards per carry) and no touchdowns. He ran the ball 33 times for 95 yards in last week's 6-3 win over the Seattle Seahawks.

Other Browns inactives include: QB Thaddeus Lewis, WR Mohamad Massaquoi, DB Ray Ventrone, OL Steve Vallos, OL Oniel Cousins, and DL Auston English.
