Horse-collar tackle vs. Ravens reportedly costs Polamalu $15K

Steelers safety Troy Polamalu was fined $15,000 by the NFL this week for a horse-collar tackle in Sunday's 35-7 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, according to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review.

Polamalu's tackle occurred at the end of Ricky Williams' 26-yard run late in the third quarter.

"It definitely wasn't on purpose," Polamalu said Wednesday. "I've never intentionally tried to horse-collar anybody."

It wasn't known if Polamalu would appeal the fine, and he didn't want to discuss it.

"I'm not a big fan of people being really vocal about the fines," he said.

Polamalu also briefly scuffled with Ravens running back Ray Rice in the game.
