Houston Texans cut Randy Bullock; add Nick Novak

The Houston Texans have decided to go in a different direction at kicker.

Houston released Randy Bullock on Tuesday, the team announced.

Going into Week 4, Bullock made five of six field goals, but the kicker missed two extra-point attempts. The four-year veteran is the only kicker to miss more than one extra-point attempt this season.

The Texans replaced Bullock with Nick Novak. Novak played for the Chargers for the past four seasons. He made 85 percent of his field-goal attempts in 2014, but was cut by San Diego after getting beat out by undrafted rookie kicker Josh Lambo during the offseason.
