The Indianapolis Colts will be without two starters on the offensive line for Sunday's game against the Houston Texans.
The Indianapolis Star's Phil Richards reported that center Samson Satele and right tackle Winston Justice will not travel with the team to Houston. A.Q. Shipley will start at center and Jeff Linkenbach at tackle.
That isn't good news for rookie quarterback Andrew Luck, who has taken a beating this year.
Luck knows he has to help his offensive line.
"I think, No. 1, understand your reads, and if guys aren't there, know where your No. 2 guys is, know where your No. 3 guy is," Luck said Wednesday in quotes distributed by the team. "Make sure you go through your reads in a timely manner and try to feel the pocket as best as possible. If you're stepping left, make sure you're stepping left for a reason. Don't just step left and put your left tackle in a bind.
"It'll be a fun challenge for the guys up front and us as an offense."
"You've got premier guys, not one, two. And their outside guys are good, too," Colts interim coach Bruce Arians said. "Anytime you go on the road and you're getting in a noisy environment, protection is critical. As is communication in the running game. This is an excellent front, and they pose as much or bigger problem than Detroit."
