Injuries: LeSean McCoy in doubt for Bills vs. Cowboys

Bills running back LeSean McCoy's Week 16 prospects are not looking good.

NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Monday that the running back is in doubt for Sunday against the Cowboys, according to a source. He is expected to return for Week 17's matchup against the Cowboys.

Shady suffered an MCL sprain that knocked him out of Sunday's loss against the Redskins at the start of the third quarter. He did not return to the game.

Here is some more injury news we are tracking on Monday:

1. A devastating blow for the Cardinals as safety Tyrann Mathieusuffered a torn ACL during Sunday's win against the Eagles and will miss the rest of the season, coach Bruce Arians said. The third-year player was having a Defensive Player of the Year-caliber season before the injury. This is the second-straight season the Cardinals have seen their Super Bowl hopes dimmed by a major injury in the season's final few weeks.

2. Vikings running back Adrian Peterson has a sprained ankle, the star said following Minnesota's win over the Bears. It doesn't seem to be serious, according to Rapoport.

3. The Cowboys officially announced on Monday that they have placed quarterback Tony Romo (clavicle) on injured reserve. Tight end Gavin Escobar was also placed on IR.

4. Titans rookie quarterback Marcus Mariota's season is over. The No. 2 overall pick in this year's draft suffered an MCL sprain, and NFL Media's Rand Getlin reports he will miss the rest of the season.

Titans interim coach Mike Mularkey ruled Mariota out for this week's game during his Monday news conference but did not go as far as to rule him out for the season finale. Mularkey added they won't play Mariota if there's any concern about his health.

5. Saints quarterback Drew Brees injured his foot on Monday night but finished the game. He told reporters after the loss that he will have an MRI on Tuesday. Brees left the stadium in a walking boot.

6. Texans backup quarterback T.J. Yates suffered a torn ACL in the Texans' win over the Colts, coach Bill O'Brien confirmed. Yates was relieved by Brandon Weeden, who then led Houston to a win.

Starting quarterback Brian Hoyer's status for Sunday against the Titans is something they'll know better after Tuesday, according to O'Brien. Hoyer is still in the concussion protocol and is being evaluated by independent doctors this week. The team has signed B.J. Daniels -- who can play both quarterback and wideout -- to take a roster spot.

7. Colts coach Chuck Pagano affirmed that quarterback Andrew Luck will not play against the Dolphins on Sunday. Luck has been out with a lacerated kidney since Week 9.

The Colts also announced that wide receiver and special teamer Griff Whalen has been placed on injured reserve with a ribs injury.

8. Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola is still getting tests on his knee, but the belief is he suffered a sprain that won't cause him to miss playoff time, Rapoport reported, per a source informed of his injury.

9. Chargers rookie running back Melvin Gordon's season is over. He was placed on injured reserve after suffering a knee injury in Sunday's win over the Dolphins.

10. Broncos quarterback Brock Osweiler came out of the Steelers' loss with a "sore" left shoulder, but coach Gary Kubiak said "all indications are he'll be OK," per USA Today's Lindsay Jones.

11. Redskins safety Dashon Goldson has a rib fracture and is day-to-day, coach Jay Gruden said.

12. Bears wideout Alshon Jeffery has a hamstring injury and will be evaluated on Wednesday to see what his availability is, coach John Fox said. Linebacker Shea McClellin is in the concussion protocol.

13. Falcons first-round defensive end Vic Beasley has a torn labrum, according to the team.

14. Ravens tight end Crockett Gillmore (back) was placed on season-ending IR.

15. Packers wide receiver Ty Montgomery (ankle) has been placed on injured reserve, the team announced.

15. Lions cornerback Glover Quin suffered a concussion on Monday night and did not return.
