Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen could be inching closer to a return, but he isn't playing in Sunday's game against the New York Giants.
Olsen, who is recovering from a fractured right foot, put in a limited practice Thursday to provide a glimmer a hope heading into the weekend. But he was officially ruled out by the team on Friday.
Earlier this week, both Olsen and Panthers coach Ron Rivera said the tight end was targeting a possible return in Week 6.
Other injuries we're tracking on this Week 5 Friday:
- Green Bay Packers wide receiver Randall Cobb (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's divisional matchup with the Lions. Tight end Jimmy Graham (knee) is off the injury report. Wide receivers Davante Adams (calf) and Geronimo Allison (groin) and cornerbacks Jaire Alexander (concussion/hamstring) and Bashaud Breeland (hamstring) are questionable.
- Texans coach Bill O'Brien said running back Lamar Miller (chest) is a game-time decision on Sunday versus the Dallas Cowboys. He is officially questionable. Texans cornerback Kayvon Webster (Achilles) will make his debut with the Texans Sunday. Wide receivers Will Fuller (hamstring) and Keke Coutee (hamstring) are both questionable.
- Browns coach Hue Jackson told reporters cornerback Damarious Randall (heel) and linebacker Christian Kirskey (flu) will be questionable for Sunday's game against the Baltimore Ravens.
- Giants linebacker Olivier Vernon (ankle) and tight end Evan Engram (knee) are out for Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers.
- Bengals running back Giovani Bernard will miss the next 2-4 weeks because of an MCL sprain, a source informed of the injury told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. Running back Joe Mixon (knee) will return Sunday against the Miami Dolphins and receiver John Ross (groin) will not play.
Cincinnati placed tight end Tyler Eifert (ankle) and activated linebacker Vontaze Burfict to the 53-man roster.
- Jacksonville Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette (hamstring) and cornerback D.J. Hayden were officially ruled out for Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Cornerback Tre Herndon (hamstring) is questionable for the game.
- New York Jets cornerback Trumaine Johnson (quad), tight end Neal Sterling (concussion) and wide receiver Charone Peake (hamstring) will not play against the Denver Broncos on Sunday. Safety Marcus Maye (ankle/foot) is questionable.
- Miami Dolphins wide receiver DeVante Parker (quadricep) and safety Reshad Jones (shoulder) are questionable for Sunday against the Bengals. is questionable. Defensive end Cameron Wake (knee) has been ruled out.
- Denver Broncos offensive tackleJared Veldheer (knee) will not play against the New York Jets and punter Marquette King (thigh) is listed as doubtful. Linebacker Todd Davis (shoulder) and defensive end Adam Gotsis (knee) are questionable
- Steelers safety Morgan Burnett (groin), receiver Darris Heyward-Bey (ankle) and linebacker Vince Williams (hamstring) are doubtful for Pittsburgh's game against the Atlanta Falcons.
- Chargers receiver Travis Benjamin (foot) will not play, and tackle Joe Barksdale (knee) is doubtful for Los Angeles' game against the Oakland Raiders. Tackle Russell Okung (groin) is questionable.
- Los Angeles Rams linebacker Mark Barron (ankle) is questionable for Sunday's contest against the Seattle Seahawks. Tight endTyler Higbee (knee) is questionable and kicker Greg Zuerlein (groin) has been ruled out.
- Oakland Raiders safety Karl Joseph (hamstring) will not play against the Los Angeles Chargers and guard Kelechi Osemele (knee) is questionable.
- Washington Redskins running back Adrian Peterson (ankle) remains on track to play Monday against the New Orleans Saints, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported. He was limited in Friday's practice.
Offensive tackle Trent Williams (knee) and wide receiver Josh Doctson (heel) are questionable to play.
- Detroit Lions defensive endEzekiel Ansah (shoulder) and guardT.J. Lang (concussion) will not play against the Green Bay Packers. Wide receiver Marvin Jones (ankle) was limited in practice and is questionable.
- San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Marquise Goodwin (hamstring/quad) will be a game-time decision, coach Kyle Shanahan said. Defensive back Jimmie Ward (hamstring) is questionable to play Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals.
- Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald (hamstring/back) is questionable to play against the 49ers after being limited in practice on Thursday and Friday. Defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche (foot) and defensive end Markus Golden (knee) also are questionable.
- Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Terrance Williams (foot) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Texans.
- Ravens linebacker Tim Williams (hamstring) has been ruled out. Cornerback Brandon Carr (knee) and tight end Hayden Hurst (foot) are questionable.
- Tennessee Titans safety Kenny Vaccaro (elbow) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills.
