Injury roundup: Julio Jones active for Falcons vs. Saints

The Atlanta Falcons will have their most important player on the field as they battle rival New Orleans Saints for the NFC South lead.

Julio Jones is active for Atlanta. The wide receiver missed last week's game with a hip injury.

According to NFL Media's Albert Breer, the Falcons saw enough from their star during pregame workouts and feel about his status. The key to Jones' Sunday will be pain tolerance.

Jones ran on Wednesday and again Saturday before traveling to New Orleans. The wideout's hip is in better shape than last week, per Breer.

Falcons safety William Moore and fellow wideout Harry Douglas are also active.

Here are some other injury notes on Sunday morning:

  1. DeMarco Murray will play despite undergoing hand surgery this week -- he's officially active. NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport said on NFL GameDay First the Cowboys running back will play with a pad on his left hand. Rapoport added Dallas is "a little nervous" about telegraphing their plays with Murray in the game and concerned with how much he can do in the passing game and blocking.

If Murray is ineffective early, expect the Cowboys to move to a heavier running back by committee approach.

  1. On the other sideline, wide receiver T.Y. Hilton is officially inactive with a hamstring injury for the Colts.
  1. Big loss for the Browns against the Panthers: cornerback Joe Haden (shoulder) is inactive, as is fellow CB K'Waun Williams (hamstring).
  1. DeAngelo Williams is inactive for Carolina with his hand injury, giving way to Jonathan Stewart in the Panthers' backfield.
  1. Texans wideout DeAndre Hopkins is good to go against the Ravens -- he's officially active. Hopkins has been dealing with an ankle injury and sat out practice all week.
  1. Originally questionable for Sunday, Muhammad Wilkerson (toe) will play for the Jets.
  1. The Jets' AFC East opponent -- New England -- will missJulian Edelman (concussion, thigh) and LeGarrette Blount (shoulder), as expected. But the Pats will have wideout Brandon LaFell (shoulder).
  1. Though the Chiefs' wide receivers haven't had a good season, they will face the Steelers with Dwayne Bowe (illness) in tow.
