Marcus Mariota's status for Sunday against the Texans remains in the air.
Titans coach Ken Whisenhunt didn't reveal much information Thursday on his rookie quarterback's injured knee, but did say he's improving.
"He (Mariota) did better today," Whisenhunt told the media. "We'll see where he is tomorrow."
Mariota, who missed last week's game versus the Falcons, participated in the open portion of practice.
Harry Douglas (foot), Perrish Cox (hamstring) and Andy Gallik (concussion) didn't practice for the Titans. Cornerback Jason McCourty (hamstring) was limited.
Here are other injuries we're following on Thursday:
- Dez Bryantparticipated in the 11-on-11 portion of practice, a day after being limited in his return to practice.
Morris Claiborne (illness) and Barry Church (ankle) did not practice for the Cowboys.
- Adrian Peterson (hip/finger/ankle) took the day off to nurse injuries. Jarius Wright (concussion) missed practice.
- J.J. Watt didn't practice for the Texans due to a back injury. Jadeveon Clowney (illness/ankle) was limited and Cecil Shorts (hamstring) and Kareem Jackson (ankle) didn't participate.
- Quarterback Josh McCown (shoulder) was limited in his return to practice for the Browns.
- Nick Mangold (neck), Chris Owusu (concussion) and Devin Smith (ankle) did not practice for the Jets. Eric Decker (knee) was limited.
- Running back Thomas Rawls (calf) was limited for the Seahawks in practice after sitting out Wednesday's session.
- For the second straight day, 49ers running back Carlos Hyde (foot) did not practice.
- Dolphins defensive end Cameron Wake suffered an Achilles injury during the third quarter of Thursday's game against the Patriots and did not return. Offensive lineman Ju'Wuan James was carted off to the locker room after suffering a toe injury on his left foot during the first quarter, CBS Sports sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson reported. He did not return.
