Records are made to be broken, but we're guessing New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was hoping his would last a little longer.

The prolific pass-catcher teamed up this week with New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees to set a Guiness World Record for most one-handed catches in one minute, making 33 grabs in Scottsdale, Ariz., near the site of Super Bowl XLIX.

Beckham set the record on Thursday afternoon. It appears Beckham was bumped Friday to No. 2 on the list.

Iowa receiver Tevaun Smith decided to try his hand at snagging passes with only one hand, and video shows he managed to grab an impressive 41 in one minute on Friday. There were no Guinness folks around to certify the record, but it appears that the bar has been raised.

Smith, who is heading into his senior season, caught 43 passes for 596 yards last season for the Hawkeyes. Of course, he still has a long way to go to put himself on the same level as the Giants' star, who has made the incredibly difficult look easy during his first season in the NFL.

Either way, the ball is certainly back in Beckham's court.
