Isaiah Pead signs rookie deal with Rams

The St. Louis Rams have signed running back Isaiah Pead, the team's second-round draft pick himself announced Wednesday.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but as the 50th overall pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, Pead's four-year deal is expected to be worth around $4 million and include nearly $2 million in guaranteed money.

The 5-foot-10, 197-pound Pead was a two-year starter at the University of Cincinnati, rushing for 3,288 yards and 27 touchdowns with 87 receptions for 721 yards and six touchdowns as a receiver. Pead ran a 4.47-second 40-yard dash at the combine and is expected to be a third-down, change-of-pace back to complement starter Steven Jackson.

Pead becomes the sixth of the Rams' 10 draft picks to sign a contract, and the highest of those selections to do so.
