Jag's Del Rio: "David's our starter," pegs Garrard for Week 1

Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio confirmed that David Garrard will start Jacksonville's season opener against the Titans.

"David's our starter," Del Rio told the *Florida Times-Union* Tuesday.

After missing the Jaguars first preseason game, Garrard returned to start against the Falcons on Friday, but finished 7 of 12 for 99 yards and one interception.

Garrard gave way to Blaine Gabbert, who wasn't much better, completing 11 of 23 passes for 96 yards.

Gabbert, taken with the 10th overall pick in the NFL draft, started Jacksonville's first preseason game while Garrard nursed a sore back.
